An institution of higher education in this area was a top priority for the Govt. of M.P. at that time as students had to traverse long distances sometimes even exceeding 30 kms to seek admission in the nearest colleges. Bhilai-3 is almost centrally located for the forty plus rurally located schools, within a radius of twelve kilometers. It especially became a boon for the girls who could now pursue higher education within commutable distance.
