Department at a glance

Dr.KCB Govt.PG College Bhilai 3 was established on 15th August 1983. Department of English started functioning with the inception of the College with UG Courses. However, PG courses in English Literature started from the year 2014 with a modest strength of 5 students.
The PG Department of English Literature has spacious classrooms, a rich library, a state of the art language lab, constant counselling by faculty members, has facilities for annual excursion, sports, debate and participation in cultural programs. The English Department is running smoothly and successfully.
The department has consistently striven to provide quality teaching to the students and impart high quality education and upgrade the knowledge of both language and literature at UG and PG levels in coherence with the need of the 21
st century.

Activities of the Department

Besides academic activities, various students support co-curricular activities are organised to engage, involve and develop students positively and to bring out their particular talent and latent potential. Student seminars, workshops and field visits are regular activities in the calendar of the department. These are accompanied by fresher’s and farewell parties, Alumni meets, PTM and the observance and celebration of important days and events of national importance and culturally significant events besides Shakespeare day and English Language day.
