            To discover, mentor and nurturemathematically inclined students and provide them a supportive environment thatfosters intellectual growth.

To employ effective education tools for our under graduate and postgraduate courses, thereby increasing the level of teaching and learning ofcollege level mathematics.

Objectives

            The aim of teaching and learningmathematics is to encourage and enable students to recognize that mathematicspermeates the world around us, appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty ofmathematics, enjoy mathematics and develop patience and persistence whensolving problems.

DepartmentalActivities :-

The departmental activitiesinclude the regular theory classes in UG and PG and practical classes alongwith academic activities (Group Discussion,PPT, lecture)in PG classes. Evaluationis done through the unit test, quarterly and half yearly exam for UG students andsessional exams for PG students as per academic calendar. Departmental Library isrich with reference books,  recommendedbooks prescribed course books

·        Department of Mathematics conducts National level Mathematics CompetitionMadhava Mathematics Competition organized by S.P. College Pune and Homi BhabhaCenter for Science and Technology  TIFRMumbai, every year for UG students.

·        U.G. and P.G. students of Mathematics Department participate inDistrict and State level competition of Mathematics and Science on the occassionof Mathematics Day and Science Day.

·        Department organizes Guest Lectures by eminent experts ofMathematics.

·         Extrusion Tour and Industrial visit through EDP, EAC, The studentsof UG and PG Mathematics Department participate actively..

·        During Covid-19 Pandemic the students of Mathematics departmentparticipated in many online competitions.

·        MOU is signed between Dr. K.C.B Govt PG College Bhilai-3 ,Durg(CG)and Govt. C.L.C. College, Patan, Durg(CG) to foster academic exchange andco-operation between the two institutions.

·        Students are encouraged to participate in many programme understudent exchange programme with other institutions.
